The 13 Little Pictures Film Lab, which started in 2011, was a platform for filmmakers to collaborate, experiment and create new works. The session hosted a diverse group of 15 aspiring directors, producers, cinematographers, scriptwriters, art directors, editors and sound engineers from Singapore and the region.
This year, the 13 Little Pictures Film Lab goes into its third edition and is now open for applications. It will take place from 18 to 23 November
2013 at the World Film Festival Bangkok. It will consist of hands-on
learning workshops, film production exercises, screenings and small group
sharing in the creative process of filmmaking.
The 13 Little Pictures filmmakers who are
participating this year are Liao Jiekai, Yeo Siew Hua, and Daniel Hui.
Each group will produce a micro-film inspired
by the theme “The Uncanny” by the end of the lab. Two winning groups will be
awarded a $2,000 post-production prize graciously sponsored by Technicolor Bangkok.
Participants must be able to commit to the full
duration of the six-day film lab.
Participation in the film lab is
free-of-charge. The film lab does not sponsor the airfare and
accommodation of its participants. If your participation is contingent on
financial assistance, please indicate this in the application form.
Here are the application materials needed:
b) one-page statement describing your personal artistic vision
c) half-page synopsis for a film idea inspired by the theme “The Uncanny”
d) creative portfolio (for video works, please provide online links, with or
without password protection)
All items should be sent by email to 13littlepictures@gmail.com. Your
submission is only completed when all application materials reach us.
The deadline for application is 15th
October 2013. Selection results will be announced on 22nd October 2013.
The Film Lab is organized by 13 Little
Pictures, in collaboration with the World Film Festival Bangkok and Technicolor
Bangkok.
