Singapore to make its mark at the 1st ASEAN International Film Festival

Ken Kwek's 'Sex.Violence.Family Values' will be screened at AIFFA 2013

Singapore will make its presence felt at the inaugural ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards 2013 (AIFFA 2013) with a big contingent of the who's who in the local film industry.

The contingent includes film directors like Jack Neo (who will be erving as one of the five jury members for AIFFA 2013), Ken Kwek who made 'Sex.Violence.Family Values', Tan Ai Leng, Kelvin Sng, David Liu, film producers like Boris Boo, Chan Pui Yin, Louis Chew, Tay Hoo Wee, Nicholas Chee, Lee Chee Tian and actors like Pam Oei, Paul Foster, Keagan Kang, Louis Wu, Pamelyn Chee and Amy Cheng.

Feature films aside, award cash prizes will also be given to the best short films as part of a competition for all aspiring and professional filmmakers. The jury for the competition includes Viddsee, Kamil Haque and Steven Bernard, a festival consultant from Hollywood.

Singaporean company founded by Ho Jia Jian and Derek Tan, Viddsee, will serve as the official digital partner for AIFFA 2013. With Viddsee, AIFFA is able to go beyond the screening venue to reach a digital audience around Southeast Asia. In line with the vision of sharing the rich diverse cultures around Southeast Asia to the world, selected nominee short films from AIFFA 2013 will have a chance to showcase their films on Viddsee.

AIFFA is held in Kuching, Sarawak from March 28 to 30, 2013 and will see members from the ASEAN, Bollywood and Hollywood film industries gather to appreciate the full spectrum of Southeast Asian films. Here is the festival website.
