Watch local shorts on Youtube's SGFilm Channel

Want to see more local films? Now, you don't even have to head out to do that. With the launch of a new Youtube channel, SGFilm Channel, you can watch award-winning local shorts from the comfort of your own home.

Started by the Singapore Film Commission (SFC), the channel is a follow-up effort to last year's "Watch Local" initiative, which saw more than one million viewers enjoying 28 Singapore films over multiple platforms including free-to-air TV channels and in cinemas.

The channel is managed by Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, which will curate 40 shorts for it this year, with 10 released every quarter.  The first batch of shorts to premiere on the channel are helmed by industry heavyweights, such as Wee Li Lin's Autograph Book, Anthony Chen's Ah Ma, Boo Junfeng's Keluar Baris and Sun Koh's The Secret Heaven.

Besides featuring acclaimed shorts by veteran filmmakers, SGFilm channel will also help highlight up and coming talent. Late Shift by 18 year-old Edward Khoo, son of revered local cinema figure Eric Khoo, is one of the shorts among the premiering slate.

You never know, you might help discover the next big thing in Singapore cinema!
