FiRST Film Fest: Are You The Next Great Singaporean Filmmaker?

FiRST is looking for the next generation of local film-makers.

As part of the inaugural FiRST Film Fest, The New Paper is on the hunt for fresh filmmaking talent with the FiRST Youth Film Competition.

The New Paper First Film Fest consists of a short film competition for youths aged between 18 and 35 as well as workshops, talks and discussions with personalities in the Singapore film industry and writers from TNP-FiRST.

As part of the Film Fest, The New Paper has teamed up with the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts (Mica) as well as Sinema Old School to bring you a short film competition.

Mica will be awarding grants totalling up to $50,000 for deserving entries.

The film competition is open to young film-makers from 18 to 35 years old, and the length of the films have to be three minutes or less.

These have to be shot in Singapore and the themes have to be for a general audience.

Apart from a grand prize, which will be announced soon, the winning film-maker will also get a chance to work on a major project by an established Singapore director.
